Two “chic” ways to wear overalls…

Overalls1

Look #1

Overalls2

Look #2

ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

As you may already know, overalls have been around for a very long time.  I remember owning a pair during my teenage years that I never got to wear much.  For some reason,  I never liked the way they looked on me and I ended up giving them  away.  However, not long ago while shopping with my daughter at the mall, I saw a pair being displayed at one of the store’s windows and immediately asked myself: “Would I ever wear one of those again?”  My mind took me back in time to the ones I used to have and all I could remember was how much I didn’t like the way I looked in them.  It is obvious to me now, after many birthdays and knowing what I know today that I was doing it all wrong.  Oh well, it is never too late to try again, right?

One important element when wearing overalls is to make sure they fit you right.  If like me,  you prefer the baggy look,  get a pair that fits you a little loose but is not too big on you (your rear should not get lost in it), otherwise you will end up looking not put together.   If you opt to wear the skinny type make sure it fits comfortable and not too tight.   The way you choose to style the overall plays a big role on the final look achieved.  Try not to wear oversized and heavy tops or bulky flat shoes so that you don’t end up looking too frumpy.   I chose to go for the loose fitting type so that I could attain the boyfriend jeans look I like so much.  Wearing high heels was a no brainer for me.  Not just because I love them so much but because they add effortless chicness and elegance to the look making it more appropriate for a girls outing or a date with your other half.  But don’t get me wrong, you could still use a pair of cute flats.   Just make sure to incorporate bold and chic accessories and of course, an eye catching bag:-)

Hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did putting it together and remember to continue giving thanks in advance for what you want as if you already have it.  Trust me; it works! Love and blessings, Ms Jeannie.

How about you? Would you wear a pair of overalls?

Si no, terminarás luciendo desaliñada.

How to make a nutrient and antioxidant packed night serum…

DSC_2013ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

I have been using essential oils for a while. The more I learn about them the more drawn I am to find ways to incorporate them into my daily skin care routine. I love to mix them together and create serums for my face and entire body. I also use oils in my hair as hair masks or simply to add shine after a good blow dry. In today’s post I wanted to show you how to make a face serum I have been using for a couple of years now and I truly love it. It is packed with powerful antioxidants, omega fatty acids, high concentration of nutrients, anti-inflammatory and skin repair properties. I personally have seen a big improvement in my overall skin tone and texture. Wrinkles near the eye area (crow’s feet) have smoothed out and seem to be less noticeable. Not that I am not willing to embrace and accept the aging process but if I can help my skin to look more radiant and fresh using God given resources, then why not? Even though natural oils are very safe to use, I recommend that you first test a small area of your skin for allergies or any other unwanted reaction from the oils. Also, make sure you get good quality oils. It is important to know that the way the oil is extracted and processed plays a huge role in its quality and healing potential so always look for cold pressed oil extraction. You will find links below to the one’s I found to be the best quality for the money I pay. Hope you all enjoy this post and remember to live life doing what you love without seeking approval or worrying about what others may think of you:-) Love, Ms. Jeannie.

Ok! So here is what you need:

Instructions:

In the empty small bottle add same amounts of the Rose Hip, Marula, Tamanu and Pomegranate oils (make sure to leave some space for the Vitamin E oil capsules). Squeeze 3 to 4 vitamin E capsules to the mix and store in a cool place in order to preserve the serum’s shelf life.

**I personally use this serum at night after applying a retinol cream to my face and before the moisturizer. I will show you on a future post my entire night skin care routine:-).  You must apply the serum before the night moisturizer.
