The Midi Skirt…

I love wearing skirts and lately, I have been drawn to wearing midis, the in-between length that most of us (including me)
are a little afraid to wear because it may make us look frumpy. I decided to get over the fear and go back in time to the 50’s where style icons like Grace Kelly wore the midi with remarkable elegance and class. The midi skirt or tea skirt, if styled properly, can work wonders for many of us. It accentuates the waist and when paired with pumps can make your legs look a mile longer. The midi can gracefully cover those spider veins and other things we don’t like so much and rest assured you will look amazing! The skirt I am wearing below was created by my lovely and very talented friend Silvia Helena. I decided to pair it with a black cropped top to create a look that is more ladylike but just know that a midi skirt looks equally fantastic with a casual top like a graphic sweatshirt or worn-in denim jacket. So now go ahead, be creative and wear the midi any way you like it but don’t forget to tell me about it:-) Blessings to you all my friends! Love, Ms. Jeannie.

The romantic maxi skirt…

These pictures were actually the very first ones I got for my blog.  They were taken by my 18 year old daughter near my parents home.  I was so excited and at the same time a little bit nervous and skeptical about pursuing “the blogging dream” .  Not because of lack of desire or passion but because I was still working on conquering the self created fears, and the obstacles and insecurities imposed by my very own mind.   I can still remember her telling me; “mom!,  come on! you can do it!”, and from there…  here I am:-).  I have had this particular skirt for a while.  I got it from an online store and the minute I saw it I fell in love with it.  I love wearing skirts very much.  In my opinion they embrace women femininity and romantic side. This maxi green one in particular makes me just want to fly the “Titanic” way….
