The eyelet fabric is one of the most essential texture to wear during the summer season.  The good news is that you can find this super fun and cool fabric in any color of the rainbow and on anything from casual dresses to super cute shoes. I personally own a couple of eyelet dresses (white and yellow) and a pair of eyelet espadrilles (Tom’s) but my favorite piece is this forest green skirt that my wonderful tailor made for me. I love green and for the longest time I had been looking for a full and fun green eyelet skirt.  So, when I found the fabric I immediately asked my tailor to make one for me and she made it just the way I wanted it.

Speaking about tailors, finding a good tailor is essential and can be the super-secret weapon to always look like a million bucks without breaking the bank. I have realized that one of the reasons why the majority of people keep buying clothes is because they feel nothing fits right (I can relate to that!) but a good tailor can help you take care of the problem. Not only will you end up saving lots of money, but you will also be wearing clothes that fit you like a glove, making a huge difference on both the way you feel about yourself and your overall appearance. When we invest in a good tailor, we are investing in the way we project ourselves.

1.  A tailor can shorten or lengthen the hem of your pants, dresses or skirts and nip the extra fabric around the hip area giving you that perfect fit you love and want.

2.  He/she can repair the broken zipper on your favorite piece.

3.  He/she can take in or let out waistbands and shorten or lengthen the sleeves on your shirts, dresses and jackets.

4.  Freshen up the very special vintage piece you love the most.

5,  Repair ripped seams on your favorite clothes.

6.  Add hooks or snaps at the points where the button-front blouses gapes

7.  Shorten the straps of your favorite dresses and blouses.

8.  Reproduce the piece you love or make it just the way you want it.

El tejido “eyelet” es una de los tipos de telas más esenciales a llevar durante la temporada de verano.  La buena noticia es que puedes encotrar este muy divertido y fresco tejido en cualquier color y llevarlo en cualquier pieza, tanto como en un vestido casual como en un par de zapátos lindos. Yo personalmente tengo un par de vestidos “eyelets” (uno blanco y uno amarillo) y un par de espadrillas hechas de el mismo tejido (de la marca Tom’s) pero mi pieza favorita es esta falda verde que llevo hoy hecha por mi maravillosa y muy querida sastre. Me fascina el color verde y desde hace mucho tiempo llevo buscando una falda amplia “eyelet” de color verde así que cuando encontré la tela inmediatamente le pedí a mi sastre que me hiciera una y ella la hizo exactamente como yo la quería.

 Y hablando de sastres, el tener al alcanze un buen sastre es ideal y podría ser el arma super-secreta para siempre lucir como un millón de dólares sin tener que romper el banco. He realizado que una de las razónes por lo cual la mayoría de las personas siguen comprando ropa es porque se sienten que nada les queda bien (lo puedo entender perfectamente) pero un buen sastre podría resolver tal problema.   No solo terminarás ahorrandote bastante dinero sino que también la ropa terminará luciendote de maravilla, haciendo una gran diferencia en  la manera en que te sientes y en tu apariencia general.  Cuando invertimos en un buen sastre estamos invirtiendo en la manera que nos projectamos nosotros mismos.

1.  Un sastre podría acortar ó alargar el ruedo de tus pantalos, vestidos ó faldas y ajustar la tela en el area de las caderas  para así lograr la talla que mejor te hace lucir.

2.  El/ella podría reemplazar  el “zipper” ó la cremallera rota en tu pieza favorita.

3.  El/ella podría encojer ó agrandar pretinas y acortar ó alargar las mangas de tus vestidos, blusas y chalecos.

4.  Rejuvenecer las piezas “vintage”  que más te agradan y quieres conservar (cambiar botones, etc.).

5.  Reparar  las costuras rotas en las piezas que más te gustan.

6.  Añadir broches ó “snaps” en areas entremedio de botones donde las blusas se abren.

7.  Acortar los manguillos ó tirantes de tus vestidos y blusas.

8.  Reproducir y crear tu pieza favorita ó crearla exactamente de la manera que la quieres 🙂
