Hello everyone! As I mentioned on yesterday’s post, this week I am taking on the challenge to put together five different looks incorporating the same black lace top in all of them. For today’s outfit, I opted to do something different and unexpected. I paired the black lace top with a floral flared skirt. I decided to call this look “The Risk Taker”. Why? Because to be honest with you, I wouldn’t normally mix two different patterns when it comes to pairing two major pieces of clothing like the top and a skirt . At first, I wasn’t sure about the idea but then it kind of grew on me. This is why I called it ‘The Risk Taker” look. The key to doing this successfully is to keep one of the two patterns on the smaller side of the scale. Meaning that, if you are going to use a bold flowered pattern on the bottom (like I did today) then you may want to keep the pattern of the top or blouse subtle and understated. Also, the combined color scheme of the outfit has to flow. There has to be a common color denominator, if you know what I mean. The skirt I am wearing was custom made by my talented friend, Silvia Helena (thank you so much Silvia!). I finished my look with black gladiator heels, a bold aqua blue necklace and a small black wristlet bag.
