Happy Friday my beautiful friends!  Today is the end of my work week and I am more than excited for the busy and amazing weekend ahead of me.  I have family visiting from out of town and a lot of packing  to do (going on vacation soon!) and I am feeling very thankful for everyone and everything in my life including all of  you:-).  And to celebrate this incredible and very uplifting joy I am feeling inside (I think my hormones are finally getting aligned with the Cosmo or something like that!) I wanted to show you these super comfy and eye-catching pieces I scored at TJ Maxx the other day for just $14.00!!!!  Yes! You heard it right! I only paid $ 14.00 for both  the top and the shorts and I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase.

I am sure for many of you shopping at discounted stores makes you feel like a kid in a candy store but for others it can be a very stressful experience and I can honestly relate with you on that but don’t let those overwhelming feelings hold you back from finding a great bargain especially in the clothing department.  Stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls do sell name brands and designer goods and not all of them are irregular items and to help you make the shopping experience a more enjoyable event I want to share with you some tips I find super helpful.

How to shop at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

Have an open mind – Don’t go expecting to find that specific dress or skirt you need for a wedding or event you may have in your calendar.  Instead, go with a general idea of the pieces you need to complement your closet (solid color tops, shorts, jackets. etc.).  And just because they don’t advertise specific designers in their ads, it doesn’t mean you won’t find your favorite ones at super discounted prices.

Shop on Wednesday – I found out that this is when TJ Maxx generally marks down their merchandise and when the store seems to be the more organized.  If you can manage to take some time off from work I strongly recommend you go in the morning.  Beating the crowds will not only increase your opportunities to find what you want but will also be less stressful.

Get to know some of the employees that work in the store – If you have a TJ Maxx or Marshalls nearby your home or work that you happen to visit often, get acquainted with the friendly staff that work at the store. They can tell you more about the new merchandise that may have arrived:-)

Have patience and a good mood, you will need it!

Ten mucha paciencia y buen humor.  ¡Lo vas a necesitar!

A long white shirt and a SELF-GROWTH challenge…

DSC_5512EDSC_5588EDSC_5625EDSC_5522EDSC_5563EDSC_5543EDSC_5459EENGLISH/ESPAÑOL

Hello my lovely readers! It is once again Friday and to me it feels like it’s been a month since I last posted.  It has actually been a week which is not the norm for me but I have been a little busy at home getting things done on top of my typical work week.   Like many of you I have a full time job, a home to take care of and a family that needs my attention every once in a while:-)   So yes, finding  time to blog can be challenging at times (like this week) but it is something I enjoy doing and I choose to do at my very own pace.  So bear with me my sweet readers and thanks so much for your unconditional support.  Love you all from the bottom of my heart:-)

Today I am sharing with you pictures taken during a beautiful afternoon here in Florida.  I wore this outfit to go to work (without the hat).  I don’t normally wear casual attire to go to work but my office was moved that day to a different building and wearing comfortable clothes made it easy for me to unpack.  Everything I wore I already owned.  Hope you all like it!

I also wanted to share with all of you a self-growth challenge I came up with to practice myself and also for you to try.  After having experienced a very hectic week,  practicing this challenge will help me re-connect, experience peace and the love we all have within.  Enjoy it!

5-Day Self-Growth Challenge

Day 1 – Call a loved one to let them know how much you love and appreciate them–   Make sure not to talk about your problems or any of your personal issues.  Just listen and keep the conversation simple, uplifting and super positive.

Day 2 – Send a text  to 10 different friends you haven’t contacted in a while wishing each one of them a beautiful and wonderful day – They will appreciate it very much.

Day 3 – Do an anonymous act of kindness – Weather you pay for the person behind you in the  drive-thru line or highway toll booth,  giving without being noticed is super uplifting and very empowering.

Day 4 – Sincerely greet a stranger on the street or the custodian employee that typically pass unnoticed – Showing others that we care, especially those who may need it the most can be life changing for both the receiver and the giver.

Day 5 – Spend some time in silence – Take at least an hour of your day to just be in silence (without your phone, tablet or any other possible distraction).  I am planning to use my lunch hour to practice this.  Silence not only brings peace and balance to our lives but it can also lower blood pressure, calm anxiety and help us make better life decisions.
