Reinventing the look #1: The easy-goer…

Today is the third day of the Reinventing the Look challenge I started on Monday. For today’s outfit, I chose to pair the, by now famous, lace top with a pair of jean shorts. Why? I wanted to create a look that was casual enough to go to a picnic at a friend’s house or a concert in the park and still look chic and put together. This is why I am calling this look “The Easy- Goer”. I added a bright neon cross-body bag to add a “fun” touch to the look and a pair of animal print ankle strap sandals to make it more sassy and feminine. The sunglasses will add the attitude and relaxed vibe that will inspire others to look at you (not that you care or need it:-)) but most importantly, will protect your eyes from the sun so that you are ready to spend the whole day just having fun. Hope you all enjoy today’s post. As always, have an awesome evening and blessings to you all. Love, Ms. Jeannie.

The outfits I put together are for your inspiration and you may be able to find similar pieces in your closet to achieve the look.   However, to provide you with more options, I have included below the links to the same or similar pieces in case you are interested.

Reinventing the look # 1: The risk taker…

Hello everyone! As I mentioned on yesterday’s post, this week I am taking on the challenge to put together five different looks incorporating the same black lace top in all of them.  For today’s outfit, I opted  to do something different and unexpected.  I paired the black lace top with a floral flared skirt.  I decided to call this look “The Risk Taker”. Why?  Because to be honest with you, I wouldn’t  normally mix two different patterns when it comes to pairing two major pieces of clothing like the top and a skirt .   At first, I wasn’t sure about the idea but then it kind of grew on me.  This is why I called it ‘The Risk Taker” look.  The key to doing this successfully is to keep one of the two patterns  on the smaller side of the scale.  Meaning that, if you are going to use a bold flowered pattern on the bottom (like I did today) then you may want to keep the pattern of the top or blouse subtle and understated. Also, the combined color scheme of the outfit has to flow.  There has to be a common color denominator, if you know what I mean. The skirt I am wearing was custom made by my talented friend, Silvia Helena (thank you so much Silvia!).  I finished my look with black gladiator heels, a bold aqua blue necklace and a small black wristlet bag.  Hope you all enjoy this post and again, stay tuned to see more of the “Reinventing the Look” challenge this week.  Blessings and sweet dreams to you all! Love, Ms. Jeannie:-)
